Ria is a weaver, creating hand-woven pieces to live by.
Producing bespoke artwork, handwoven lengths, samples + limited drops of homeware objects.
Regularly creating narratives alongside her work from a mix of experiences, research + imagination. She holds belief in the importance material has to carry memories + connections.
She graduated from the Manchester School of Art (2020), in textiles design.
With hand-weaving being her primary practice, Ria aims to explore the many dialects of woven fabric and its endless intrigues, conservations + subtleties. Ria’s woven works see no limitations when regarding an outcome: weave is weave.
Her practice is rooted in being conscious of material, locality + tradition.
